Learn how I list on Etsy. In this video I show you through screen share how I list an item. It can be intimidating if you never sold anything before online. With Etsy you can only sell supplies or vintage items. To be considered vintage they have to be at least 20 years old. If you hand made something you can sell it too. But don’t buy new things and act like they were hand made by you. Etsy will have someone message you to take down a listing if the item does not appear to be 20 years old.
You want to use every photo slot you can. Take clear shots of the items. Use the macro setting on your camera for close ups. make sure to write a good description of the item when you list on Etsy. Note every flaw that item has. You can usually overprice things a little bit more than if you were selling the item on eBay. Etsy seems to have more affluent customers. Which means you can ask higher prices for your items, but only if you market them nicely.
Sloppy photos and poor descriptions won’t get your items sold. You can look at some of the featured merchants on Etsy for ideas on how to brand your store. It’s best to stick with a theme or niche. This way people can follow you and will become repeat buyers because they know what items to expect from you.
