eBay Doesn’t Care About Sellers Price

Have you seen this on your listings? You can opt out of adding this information. But it helps to add this technical information. The bad thing about it is that eBay lists the average sales price from all of eBay. So if you run a more affluent store, you may have to lower prices. What’s the point of letting sellers list things independently if they are going to splash lower prices in listings. They might as well put every offer on the same listing.

The only thing this price comparison will do is give buyers a reason to leave a sellers listing unless they are prices lower than the average displayed. What is worse is that the used item average does not reflect the condition of an item. So you may have a like new item but eBay is telling buyers that you are overpriced.

This is just one way that you can see eBay doesn’t care about sellers. They are more interested in adding “new” features that actually hurt sales. Now buyers have to click a button to read a seller’s description. This is a horrible thing for eBay to do because many sellers choose to sell an item on eBay because people can see condition notes. I’ve sold Amazon FBA returns on eBay just because I knew that Amazon customers can’t read the conditions that well.

Ebay is going to have to get back to basics. there are way to many places people can sell goods online now. Sure eBay may be on top right now after Amazon. But Etsy is growing. people even sell there stuff on local Facebook groups, Facebook pages, and Instagram. I can’t wait till eBay splits with PayPal. That will be a big turning point. We’ll see if eBay will sink or swim.
