Amazon FBA 2015 Fees Change

Every year Amazon adds to their fees. So of course I was looking for the Amazon FBA 2015 fees. They added something this coming year that may affect you. They are adding another long tern storage fee for items that are in the centers between 6 – 12 months. This fee isn’t as much as items that are in the centers for 12+ months. But this may keep people from sending in their seasonal items so fast.

I live in Ohio so summer toys and supplies are marked down a lot. I usually buy those up when they’re on clearance. of course I make sales throughout the winter because some places have summer weather all year. But now that there is a fee for long term storage of 6 to 12 months, I may skip out on some items, or hold them at my place and send them in once summer comes along.

What will get hurt even more are those people who buy Halloween or Christmas items and send them in as soon as they buy them on clearance. Of course if you have just one of an item then you won’t get any long term storage fees. But who wants to send in just one item when they could buy 5 and make money off of them. One of the perks is being able to store your stuff in the warehouses but now you may want to look at those Amazon ranks a little closer and hold on to the seasonal stuff for a while before sending them in.

Many people criticize fees on Amazon. You can’t just expect Amazon to give you a lot of traffic for nothing. That the big advantage of using Amazon. Imagine the amount of work and money in marketing you would need to run a website like theirs. Personally I’m ok with new fees. But you do have to be aware of what they are so you can avoid paying them if you can. So be vigilant about what you send into the warehouses.
