There are free eBook cover makers. The one I use is My eCover Creator. You can press “Start Here” and see that the very top designs are free to ake and download. There are other designs if you want to pay for the $5 download. You could also subscribe if you plan on writing a lot within the month. I just stick with the free options when I created my very first eBook “Canada Goose Control”. Don’t laugh too hard! I had wanted to make an eBook for a long time to try and make residual income. But I’m a perfectionist so I wanted the first one to be successful. So I ended up procrastinating for months. I finally just realized that I could make a crappy eBook just to figure out how Clickbank worked and how to make a squeeze page with WordPress.
So I came up with this silly idea. I wanted to stay cheap so I looked up how to make eBook covers. I saw a bunch of tutorials in Photoshop but I didn’t want to spend that much money. I have the Free Gimp Editor which I recommend everyone to get but I still had a hard time making the images on the covers look right. There were so many websites that I tried but they had so many pop up ads on them that my computer would run slow. You will have to have some of the pictures you want to use. But you can add titles really easily they even have some background pictures you can use free of charge to make you book look really good. My best advice would be to make your book look realistic. All of us can tell when some one has copy and pasted some crappy picture of happy people smiling near a computer with some sort of money showering on top of them.
Also make sure that people can read the title on your book. You may need to shorten your title so that it can be seen. Using a powerful image will help grab attention if the picture is creative enough.
